Dear Trish,
We would like to express our appreciation for the superior service received during our recent stay at the McMannaway House. We could see from day one that your place has a great quality, both because of its comfortable and appropriate facilities, as well as service and constant concern for our comfort. Thank you especially for being aware of our wedding anniversary and helping us very kindly to celebrate it in a great style. We were truly impressed with your lovely personality, fantastic culinary skills and excellent food you served us. It was really a great pleasure to get acquainted with you people. You both are very interesting and friendly. We will definitely recommend your place to friends and work colleagues.
We wish to you and your husband success in all your future endeavours and hope to see you soon as very dear guests in our home.
Best regards,
Nebojsa & Vinka

Hi Trish and Skilly
Just a very belated note to thank you for your hospitality over the weekend. You really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and we very much appreciate that. And we loved the food! We also appreciated your adjusting to putting us up another night at short notice: it turned what could have been a disappointing setback with the flight delay into a rather delightful extra day stolen from everyday life. I'm missing that lovely walk along the waterfront. But I am enjoying Tom Parker-Bowles and his droll turn of phrase; great fun. Thanks so much for coming to my rescue with that. Imagine waiting at the airport without a book to read: horrors! As it turned out our plane left about 2pm, which wasn't too bad. I was beginning to wonder whether we'd end up having to catch the boat on Tuesday. Although by the time we'd circled seemingly endlessly in the clouds over Auckland and then fumed in the rush-hour traffic for ages I was very glad to get home. Anyway, thanks again, and all good wishes for the continuing success of your lovely hideaway.

Hi Trish
We have made it back to the frozen North of UK -the snow lies on the ground outside and the temp is 0C! a far cry from our brilliant time on Great Barrier Island and our stay at Mcmanaway House. So this is just to say many thanks it was great staying there in every way -love the house with its lay out which is so easy and relaxing. We had everything we needed and everyone of us agreed 5 star plus-love the Island which we all felt was somewhere special and now we know what there is we all agreed a must to return hopefully next year. From all of us to you both thank you so much for making us feel so at home and for allowing us to stay, once we sort out plans for our next trip then I hope we will visit again.
Many thanks
Dale

“You’re coming out? Enthused Trish. Do you eat crayfish? Keep a watch for whales & dolphins on the way over, I`ll see you at the airport!” And strike me sideways if I didn’t see a pod of humpbacks breaching below me in the silvery sea. My all-to-brief love affair with Great Barrier Island had begun. It is not located off the Australian reef even though it sounds and looks like it should be. Half-forgotten and extremely untouristy, it is even more enticing. Everything that makes for a proper island is in place: secret white beaches, rugged mountains, rainforests, deep sea trench (world renowned for it’s fishing)…. and an Irish pub. It also has Trish & Ivan, the best hosts you could imagine. Ivan goes out mid-afternoons (and you can accompany him) to catch dinner which Trish (an outstanding chef) will turn into a feast. We had succulent baby leek quiches followed by a Barrier Bouillabaisse, brimming with seafood, fresh snapper fillets and we finished with a warm chocolate tart. Wow!!!  Stop the world I want to get off! Pipi digging, whale watching, hot springs, wineries, diving and snorkelling with the added option of a fishing charter with Skilly on Freedom Fishing Charters.
